DCHS Indoor Guard and Winds season preview set for Saturday; school hosting Color Guard competition in February

The Daviess County High School Indoor Guard and Winds are hosting a season preview event on Saturday at College View Middle School (5061 New Hartford Road). The event will feature groups from Apollo, Edmonson County, Ohio County and Daviess County high schools.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the program begins at 4 p.m. Admission is $10.

DCHS is also hosting the annual Southeastern Color Guard Circuit Indoor Competition at the high school (4255 New Hartford Road) on Feb. 12. The start time will be announced at a later date. Admission is $10. The SCGC contest will showcase 30 performing groups from Kentucky and Tennessee.

The DCHS Winter Guard program were SCGC Champions in 2019 and have medaled in SCGC competition numerous times. The DCHS Winter Guard is taught by Alisha Glover and designed by Thomas Wooldridge.

The DCHS Indoor Winds ensemble captured the Independent Worlds Championship at an international competition in 2019 and 2021. Indoor winds is a division of Winter Guard, which is an indoor version of marching band. The DCHS Indoor Winds are taught by Nate Clark and Matt Bristow with design by Shane Gwaltney and Michael Miller.
