The RiverPark Center recently announced its 2022–2023 season lineup of Broadway touring shows. Executive Director Rich Jorn said that one of the focuses for the season is ensuring fewer show cancellations.

Four shows have been announced for the season: Anastasia on Nov. 10; Stomp on Jan. 17; The Simon & Garfunkel Show on Feb. 28; and Jesus Christ Superstar on April 16.

Jorn said there are still some shows that could be added in the future.

Last season’s Broadway touring lineup was supposed to include four shows, but two of those shows were canceled the day they were supposed to be performed. Jorn said one show was canceled the day after the cast had a positive test for COVID-19, while saying the other cancellation seemed to be a union-related issue.

By the end of the 2021-22 season, Jorn said they drew a total audience of 78,341 people across 208 performances, which he said generated $6.7 million for the City of Owensboro.

“That’s not bad for a COVID year and just under 25,000 youth served,” Jorn said.

Season subscriptions are available now and offer a three-show FLEX package. Being a subscriber includes a guarantee of the same seats to each show and exclusive opportunities for upgrades. Subscribers also receive additional special ticket offers and the chance to purchase tickets to special shows before the general public.

Tickets for each individual show will be announced as the performance approaches.
