Theatre Workshop of Owensboro is getting ready to present A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol, the story of a troupe of radio players presenting a live rendition of the classic holiday tale. In the musical comedy, audiences will get a look at The Golden Age of Radio.

Actors will provide live characterizations, sound effects, even commercials — just like in days gone by.

The production will be presented at The Empress Theatre (418 Frederica Street) on December 9-11 and 16-18. Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m.

Tickets are available at 270-683-5333 and theatreworkshop.org. Tickets are $18 for adults, and $12 for students. There will be a $2 surcharge added to all tickets purchased at the door.

The show is sponsored by Southern Star and the 2022-2023 season sponsor is Owensboro Health.
