Local high school marching bands are performing in town this weekend to allow the public to see a peak into their competition shows for the season.

Owensboro High School’s Marching Red Devils will take the field on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Rash Stadium. The show is free to all.

Their theme is “Overjoyed: The Music of Stevie Wonder.” Thursday’s show is the last performance before OHS competes at the Warren East Raider Invitational this weekend.

The band performed at the Green River Marching Band Festival last weekend and were crowned Grand Champions.

Daviess County High School’s Band of Pride and Apollo High School’s Marching Eagles will host their Fall Spectacular marching band show this Saturday. The event starts at 6 p.m.

The show costs $10 and includes a full setlist of high school marching bands performing at Reid Stadium. Additional bands set to perform are Hancock County, Hopkinsville, McLean County, Madisonville-North Hopkins, and Owensboro Catholic high schools.

The DCHS Band of Pride also competed in the Festival of Champions last weekend, placing third of 12 schools in the region in their category.

Before OCHS Marching Aces take the stage Saturday night, they will perform in the Warren East Raider Invitational in Bowling Green at 10:30 a.m.

The Marching Aces previously competed at the Green River Marching Band Festival, where they won first place in Class A with Best Color Guard and Percussion distinctions.
