What began as a mobile flower truck out of a 1965 Ford F-100, Meadow House Flowers has evolved into a full-scale brick-and-mortar operation. Located at 113 East 18th Street in the Old Town Shopping Strip, the florist and gift boutique offers a curated collection of thoughtful gifts, house plants, and fresh flowers.

Owner and operator Meagan Cooley found inspiration for the business and the name while living in a small blue house on Meadow Lane. She said the house had a wonderful garden with beautiful flowers, and it was there that she fell in love with the trade.

“From that house, my experience with flowers, and my business, has shifted and evolved over the years to where it is today as Meadow House Flowers & Gifts,” Cooley said. “The truck was such a fun way to bring flowers to the community, but we’re delighted now to have a dedicated space of our own in the form of the shop.”

Meadow House boasts a flower bar featuring a collection of fresh blooms and greenery, priced per stem. Cooley said this concept allows customers to build a bouquet in the size, style, and price range they need.

The shop offers floral designs for weddings and flower delivery in Daviess County. They also have an assortment of gift lines, including candles, journals, and more.

Cooley attributes much of the store’s success and growth to the supportive community.

“The community has been very supportive, and we feel lucky to be here,” she said. “Between other business owners in our shopping strip, Chamber of Commerce members and staff, our faithful followers from the flower truck days, and all of the new customers we’ve served, we feel incredibly supported.”

“A lot of times, buying or sending flowers can feel intimidating and confusing,” Cooley said. “We are here to be a community resource and help you love your loved ones well. We’re always ready with a warm smile to help you with any questions and provide a listening ear.”
