Owned and operated by Goodwood Brewing and Spirits, Goodwood Owensboro will celebrate its grand opening on Monday, July 24. Situated on the riverfront at 101 Frederica Street, the restaurant and bar will feature a full kitchen, award-winning core beers, craft spirits, and seasonal brews.
Headquartered in Louisville, the brewery began producing award-winning craft beer in 2005. The Owensboro restaurant marks the fifth of its kind with additional locations in Louisville, Lexington, Frankfort, Columbus, and Indianapolis.
After hosting multiple soft openings over the weekend to train staff, Director of Marketing Rebecca Redding said they’re eager to open the doors to the public at 3 p.m. on Monday.
“We want to invite everyone to join us for a ribbon cutting with the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce on July 28 at 4 p.m.,” Redding said. “Be sure to stick around afterward to enjoy dinner at Goodwood and drinks on the patio during the Friday After 5 festivities.”
Goodwood first announced they were expanding to Owensboro two years ago. Redding said the grand opening was a long-time coming, and the food, drinks, views, and vibes would be well worth the wait.
“Everyone’s excited that we’re finally opening,” she said. “There’s been so much buzz for the past two years that I think everyone will want to come out and see what all the hype is about.”
A central selling point for the restaurant is the panoramic view of the Ohio River and Smothers Park. Customers can enjoy the view from the interior, where windows line the entire north wall, or from the wrap-around outdoor patio with fireplaces.
The restaurant also features several flat-screen televisions to watch the big game and a substantial bar. Redding described the food as southern classics with a twist, including chicken and waffles, brisket totchos, buffalo cauliflower, bourbon-brined pork chop, and brunch every weekend.
Goodwood takes pride in creating every dish from scratch, especially its complete line of beer-infused wing sauces, ranging from mild to extreme heat.
