The locally produced show “Project Volunteer” — which spotlights local and regional nonprofit organizations and the many volunteer opportunities they have available — recently finished production of Season 4. All 12 episodes are streaming now on YouTube, and the show will also be broadcast on several TV networks.

All episodes can be seen now at ProjectVolunteer.org or on the show’s YouTube page. Links to each episode can also be found below. The show airs on NRB TV, KET, WKU-TV, Faith Unveiled Network, and World Trumpet TV.

Randy Lanham and Theresa Rowe co-host the show, which also features crew members Wayne Morris and Brian Synder.

“We are so excited to educate and inspire volunteerism,” Lanham said. “The show features many Owensboro nonprofits as Theresa and I find out all about the organization and then actually become a volunteer for a day. The next best thing after actually volunteering yourself, is to watch someone else do it. That way a person watching will know what the organization is all about and exactly what to expect when volunteering.”

Lanham said there are many ways to volunteer that many people don’t know about in Owensboro-Daviess County and surrounding communities.

“We get some amazing testimonies from real volunteers and the recipients,” he said. “Each episode is unique so that we show different ways to volunteer in your community, no matter where you live. Although every community may not have an organization exactly like what they see, it may inspire someone to start something like that in their community.”

He added, “We believe God made us all to help and serve one another and when we do that, it not only helps others but helps us feel better too. Its a win win for everyone.”

This season was produced by Volunteer Owensboro — a local nonprofit founded by Lanham and Morris — with sponsorship from United Healthcare and Atmos Energy.

The show initially began as “Volunteer Owensboro” ago and was only featured on Time Warner’s local channel eight. Following some success, KET KY acquired the show, and the group elected to change the name to “VolunTour Kentucky” to feature nonprofit organizations outside of the Owensboro community.

As the show continued to grow in popularity, Lanham added Rowe as a co-host prior to filming season two and rebranded again — this time arriving at “Project Volunteer.” The show was then picked up by NRTB TV which reaches over 45 million homes across the nation.
