Right to Life of Owensboro will host its annual Walk for Life on September 9. In addition to the 3-mile walk, the event will include food trucks, inflatables, bull riding, face painting, and more.

The walk will begin at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (4029 Frederica Street) at 10 a.m., with registration starting at 9.

RTLO Executive Director Stacey Davis said the free event will deliver something for the entire family.

“This is a fundraiser for us, so while it is free, we accept donations and sell T-shirts,” Davis said. “This will be a family festival. We will have photo booths, inflatable obstacle courses, and so much more. We really want this to be a fun family event.”

Right to Life of Owensboro began in 1973, with the first walk quickly following. Davis recalled participating in high school and said it’s pivotal in the nonprofit’s goal to raise awareness.

“This is our biggest display of public awareness, and everyone is invited,” she said. “Some people think that our fight is over since Roe v. Wade ended, but it’s actually just beginning. It’s time to stand firm in the pro-life movement. We can’t ever take our foot off of the gas.”
