Three contemporary Christian music artists are coming to Owensboro for free outdoor concerts as part of the new “Faith Night” series hosted by the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum. The first artist, Consumed By Fire, performs this Friday.
Each act will grace the Michael E. Horn Family outdoor stage from 6-8:30 p.m.
The dates for the concert series are
- August 4: Consumed By Fire
- September 8: Apollo LTD
- October 7: Leanna Crawford
In addition to music, Faith Night features food trucks, vendors, and more for the whole family. The Hall of Fame will sell concessions, but the series is alcohol-free. Seating is not provided, so guests are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket. No outside coolers are permitted.
“We work hard to present music with a mission and want everything we do under the Hall of Fame banner to have a tangible impact on our community,” said Chris Joslin, Hall of Fame Executive Director. “Thanks to the generosity of private donors, this concert series features music rooted in faith highlighting some of the brightest emerging artists in contemporary Christian music today. We look for ways to feature Christian artists because gospel music is an important part of the bluegrass music tradition. Leveraging our outdoor stage for this concert series makes a lot of sense and featuring contemporary Christian music artists fits our organization’s culture.”
The media sponsor for Faith Night at the Museum is Christian Family Radio (91.7 FM), serving listeners in Owensboro, Bowling Green, and Glasgow, Kentucky.
“Partnering with the Bluegrass Hall of Fame and Museum was a natural extension of our mission which is to strengthen faith, family, and community,” said Derek Gregory, Programming Director for Christian Family Radio. “It’s always rewarding to see our music artists come to the museum and be blown away by the modern facility, exhibits, and the support of the crowd. Word spreads, and it adds to Owensboro’s reputation as a worth-while stop for Christian concert tour managers. That’s a win-win for this region and CFR’s ministry, and we are incredibly grateful to collaborate on projects like these.”
Details about each artist, as provided by the Hall of Fame, are as follows:
Consumed By Fire — Comprised of Caleb Ward (lead vocals), Jordan Ward (harmonies/percussion), Josh Ward (guitar/harmonies), the three brothers from Oklahoma are living out their calling through music. The band’s current radio single, “First Things First,” is evidence of Consumed By Fire’s family bond. The band is already receiving media attention with spotlights from KLove and Air1 Radio, praising the band for their lyrics and tight harmonies.
Apollo LTD — This pop-rock duo from Nashville, Tennessee consists of Jordan Phillips and Adam Stark. The two met when they were paired as roommates at Nashville’s Belmont University. In August 2017, the band signed with Residence Music and released their first single “One in a Million.” Jordan and Adam share the common goal to write honest songs that unite, turning the challenges that all humans face into reasons to band together. Their latest single is “Redemption Song.”
Leanna Crawford — As a native of the Pacific Northwest, nature has always been a friend to singer/songwriter Leanna Crawford. Her connection with God’s creation inspired her latest collection of songs filled with personal, powerful melodies and heartfelt vocals. This is reflected in songs such as “Before I Knew Jesus” and “How Can You Not.”
