The newest Donatos Pizza location is set to open August 15 on New Hartford Road. The three-unit building will also house a new office for KORT Physical Therapy, expected to open August 29.
The shopping strip is located just off the bypass across from Subway.
The new Donatos is an expansion store, with the other Owensboro location at 2601 West Parrish Avenue. The new KORT will replace the clinic’s location at 3515 Frederica Street; the office at the entrance of Wesleyan Park Plaza on Frederica Street will remain open.
Co-owner Sean Byrne said they always planned to have two Donatos locations.
“We had plans to have two sites. We actually purchased this ground about 6 years ago, waiting for the first one to fully mature and get ready for a second location. So we’ve been sitting on it for a while, and we’re excited to get it up,” Sean Byrne said.
Sean’s wife Jennifer is KORT’s Market Manager and Doctor of Physical Therapy. She said the new location is going to be great for the business. The location will also have an underwater treadmill that operates like a standard treadmill but is within a case that can fill up in 3 minutes and that allows patients to practice recovery while being buoyant.
The new building center mimics the aesthetics of the three-unit strip on Frederica that houses Tropical Smoothie and KORT, with nearly twice the square footage. The Byrnes have not announced what business will occupy the third unit.
