Owensboro native Troy Schwartz purchased Sparkle Brite Car Wash at 620 Emory Drive in Wesleyan Park Plaza earlier this year. In addition to upgrading the location, he recently announced a decrease in prices for washes, details, and more.
The full-service car wash has been an integral part of the community since 1965, and like previous owners, Schwartz is committed to paying close attention to details. Unlike other washes in the area, Schwartz said Sparkle Brite has employees hand-drying and vacuuming vehicles for clients.
“We have over 20 employees committed to doing things right,” Schwartz said. “For most people, that’s why they come here – the hand-drying and vacuuming. Some of our clientele are senior citizens, and they appreciate those services. It’s true full service – it’s old-fashioned.”
Schwartz also owns Apex Renovation Company, a construction company offering several services. He will be leaning on his team at Apex to assist with the many renovation projects he has planned for the car wash.
“Our company is going to be coming in here and remodeling the outside with fresh paint, landscaping, and other cosmetics,” he said. “Then, we will concentrate on the inside and redo everything with updated technology. In the next year or so, this will look like a brand new car wash.”
Sparkle Brite offers complete interior and exterior detailing, including seat and carpet shampooing. They also provide monthly unlimited packages at a discounted price.
Schwartz has lived in Owensboro his entire life and is adamant about seeing the community grow and thrive.
“This is my home, and I always want to improve things here,” he said. “I was born in 72, and this place (Sparkle Brite) has been here since the 60s. It just needs a little TLC, and it can be here for another 100 years.”
Schwartz also owns Crickets Car Wash on Parrish Avenue.
