Thursday’s Rooster Booster program will introduce the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce 40 Under 40 honorees, and the Leadership Owensboro Class of 2024 will also be announced. The event’s guest speaker will be Dr. Belle S. Wheelan, President of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
The program begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Owensboro Convention Center (501 West Second Street) and is sponsored by Brescia University. Register to attend here or call the Chamber office at 270-926-1860.
The cost to attend Rooster Booster is $15 for Chamber members with reservations, $20 for members with no reservations, and $25 for non-members. Reservations include breakfast, which will be served buffet-style at the beginning of the event.
Wheelan is the first woman to serve in her current role. Her career spans over 40 years and includes the roles of faculty member, chief student services officer, campus provost, college president, and Secretary of Education. In several of those roles, she was the first African American and/or woman to serve in those capacities.
