The Alzheimer Association’s Greater Kentucky & Southern Indiana Chapter is starting a new caregiver support group in Daviess County. This group is open to the caregivers of those who have Alzheimer’s disease or any form of dementia at any stage of the disease.
The first in-person meeting will be on October 17th from 6–7 p.m. at Wellington Parc (2885 New Hartford Road).
The group will meet at the same time and location every third Tuesday of the month. Walk-ins are welcome and pre-registration is not required.
“Support groups create a safe, confidential, supportive environment or community and a chance for participants to develop informal mutual support and social relationships. They also educate and inform participants about dementia and help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems,” a release from the association reads.
The group is led by two trained Alzheimer’s Association volunteers, Katie Christian and Andrea McDonald.
