McMahon Exterminating

With just one truck, Jack McMahon created McMahon Exterminating in Evansville in 1971. His son Charlie took over the business in 2010 and welcomed a third generation with his son Luke in 2018.

Over 52 years, the business has grown from one employee with a truck to more than 30 employees and 23 service vehicles. The team features several father-son and husband-wife duos and other relatives to create the ultimate family-owned business.

“Our family aspect separates us from our competitors,” Charlie McMahon said. “We pride ourselves in providing our customers with an outstanding customer service experience, something we discuss regularly.”

McMahon said the company boasts fully-trained technicians equipped with the tools and knowledge to combat even the most challenging pest problems. McMahon’s strives to provide courteous services, flexible programs, and quality solutions for various pest problems.

The company offers several year-round services that range from monthly to quarterly treatments. They also provide termite inspections and control, ant control, spider control, rodent control, bed bug extermination, mosquito extermination, flea and tick lawn extermination, and commercial services to area businesses.

Another unique offering of McMahon’s Exterminating is its Can-Ine services, where Raven – a black labrador retriever – will sniff out bed bugs and other potential issues. McMahon said Raven is the number one Labrador in the nation for rally obedience and the only bedbug-certified dog with such awards.

Raven and her handler Shelby are certified by the National Entomology Scent Detection Canine Association (NESDCA). McMahon said Shelby is one of the only female handler in the tri-state, and is amazing at what she does.

He said expanding from Evansville to Owensboro has been a remarkable transition.

“Owensboro has that small-town family vibe,” McMahon said. “I know that Owensboro families and businesses trust family-owned and operated businesses, which is why we decided to take the leap and come to this wonderful city.”
