Kentucky Wesleyan College is inviting the public to a party on the College’s front lawn as part of Homecoming and Family Weekend presented by Owensboro Health.
The Bash on the Lawn will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 2 – 6 p.m. The free event will feature live music, inflatables, face painting, food and beverage trucks, and other family-friendly activities.
“We are always excited to invite the Owensboro community to celebrate Homecoming and Family Weekend with us,” KWC President Tom Mitzel said. “Kentucky Wesleyan is a college for Owensboro, and we want our Owensboro family to enjoy the afternoon on campus with us.”
Student organizations, reunion groups, sponsors, and other affinity groups will host vendor-style tents offering games, photo opportunities, fundraisers, and more.
This year’s food truck lineup includes Real Hacienda, J’s Good Grub, Hello Pop, Libertalia Coffee, and The Brew Bridge’s Beer Trolley.
The live music lineup includes performances by “The Flemings” featuring Brad Fleming from the Class of 1998 from 2-3:30 p.m. and Soul N The Pocket, an Evansville-based band, whose “soul, Motown, R&B, blues, and pop” hits are guaranteed to keep the crowd on their feet.
“We’re thrilled to bring The Bash back for its third year,” Senior Director of Engagement Summer Aldridge said. “We host a wide variety of events throughout the weekend that focus on specific groups of students, alumni, and friends. We created this event to bring all those distinct groups of people together to celebrate Homecoming and Family Weekend, and we do it The Wesleyan Way. We look forward to seeing many new faces at The Bash this year.”
The Bash on the Lawn will also serve as the official tailgate ahead of the Homecoming football game vs. Ohio Dominican, which kicks off at 6 p.m. at Steele Stadium.
