State Farm Insurance recently awarded a $25,000 grant to Junior Achievement of West Kentucky. The funds will be used to provide service learning opportunities to area high school students to hone essential skills with the goal of improving the local workforce.
JA President Dan Douglas said the organization is actively impacting over 23,000 students annually in Daviess and 11 other area counties.
“We are grateful for State Farm’s donation and investment in our area’s future workforce and look forward to building upon this partnership with the great corporate friend they are for this community,” Douglas said.
Tommy Rowland, Regional Agency Sales Leader for State Farm, added, “We are excited to present Junior Achievement with this $25,000 Community Grant, which focuses on safety, community development, economic empowerment, and education. Service learning and enabling our young people and future workforce to be better prepared for their future is of great interest to and a focus of State Farm.”
The mission of JA is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. They teach students in grades K-12 about work readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship through experiential, hands-on programming.
