BlOktoberfest returns to downtown Owensboro today with a full slate of activities. The event runs from 2-8 p.m. and features live music, food trucks, and craft beer options from several local and regional breweries.
The main stage will be set at the intersection of 2nd and Allen streets, with 2nd blocked from Daviess to St. Ann. Chris Abell and the Lowland Ramblers will take the stage first, followed by August Christopher, Cynthia Murray, and the End Times.
“We have several regional breweries in attendance this year,” said organizer Palmer Dempsey. “We welcome White Squirell, Henderson Brewing Co., The Pub on 2nd & Brewery, and The Brew Bridge.”
Dempsey added that Green River Distilling Co. would be on site with its Whiskey Wagon as the official after-party sponsor.
J’s Good Grub and Lure Smokeshack will be in attendance dishing out local favorites. There will also be a stein holding competition at 5:45 p.m.
“We anticipate this being our biggest year yet,” Dempsey said. “This is a free and family-friendly event. We will have a full day of music, competitions, and several artisan vendors. Come join in on the fun.”
