Reid’s Orchard and the people behind PorchFest are teaming up to create Orchard Music Fest on September 28, 2024.

Brad Reid said after he attended his first PorchFest this year, he knew immediately that a music festival would be the perfect event to bring to the Orchard. He added that while the family made the decision to stop putting on the Apple Festival, the Reids still wanted to host events on a smaller scale.

Reid said their idea as of now is to have roughly six stages spread across the 260-acre orchard, with musical acts that will be selected by Tamarra and Andy Brasher, the creators of PorchFest.

“We think we know where all the stages are going and what size they are. We’ve got to figure out how to get power out to some of them because several of the stages aren’t near electricity,” Reid said.

Tamarra said that when the Reids approached the Brashers, she knew it’d be a great partnership.

“They reached out to us, and Andy and I have been debating on having a mini fall PorchFest for years just because of the weather and people would love it, and so it seemed like the perfect combination of the two,” Tamarra said.

While the Brashers will be picking the acts as the event draws closer, Reid noted the aim for the event is to have family-friendly fun and good music.

Reid said, “With it being the beginning of fall, I want to bring that country vibe to it, a good farm feel.”
