The Owensboro Rotary Club is creating a cookbook and has a goal of including 100 local recipes, and the club is asking the community for submissions.

Club President Elizabeth Moutardier said she recalled making a group cookbook for fundraisers when she was in school, and she thought it would be a great way to bring the community together.

She said the goal is to sell 100 books and make it an annual tradition.

“If someone submits something and it’s a family recipe, or if kids want to submit something, this could be a great keepsake,” Moutardier said.

Anyone in the community may submit recipes at no cost. Submissions should be sent to [email protected] and will be accepted through November 3. For more information, head to the Rotary Club Facebook page.

Moutardier said the book will be completely locally made. All recipes will be from Owensboro residents, and the book will produced through Greenwell-Chisholm Printing Company. The cover will be designed by local artist Aaron Kizer.

Moutardier said she expects the cookbook to cost about $25, with funds raised ultimately going back to the organization’s scholarship fund with the Hager Foundation.
