The Owensboro-Daviess County Habitat for Humanity will host its Fall Warehouse Sale this Saturday at their headquarters at 2930 West 4th Street. The event begins at 8 a.m. and offers an opportunity for people looking to make home improvements to purchase items at a bargain.

“These sales have become a significant part of our fundraising,” said Habitat Executive Director Jeremy Stephens. “Not only is it an opportunity for people in the community to get a deal, it allows anyone to support Habitat’s mission. With Habitat’s commitment to doubling our annual housing output, we remain humble in our community’s efforts to support the organization as we continue to meet the need for affordable housing.”

Habitat will accept donations for home goods such as lumber, interior and exterior doors, new or replacement windows, appliances, furniture, tools, and more. Stephens said those with investment properties will want to take advantage of these deals.

He added that 100% of the donated proceeds will provide building materials and supplies to construct new Habitat houses.

“We will open the doors to our warehouse on Saturday at 8 a.m. and won’t close them until everything is gone,” Stephens said.

Habitat Owensboro-Daviess County plans to build 9-10 houses in 2023 in addition to a first-time homeowner training facility. The center will be named Ms. Virginia’s Education and Training Center in honor of Habitat’s former Executive Director, Virgina Braswell.
