St. Benedict’s and the Daniel Pitino Shelter are collecting deodorant and body wash as part of a collaboration with the Jack Harlow Foundation’s No Place Like Home Holiday Drive at Friday’s concert.
Harry Pedigo, Executive Director at the shelters, said they narrowed the donation request down to just the two items to keep it simple, but he noted those items are among the hardest to keep in stock.
“Everybody wants to take care of themselves hygienically, and we run through those items more than anything else at both shelters, too,” he said.
The Foundation is working with United Ways throughout the Commonwealth to determine needs at various nonprofits. Each tour stop will feature a different request of specific goods to be given to the chosen nonprofit.
“To celebrate each concert’s hometown we are collecting donations for local nonprofits with the help of Metro United Way,” the Foundation said. “… Thank you for helping the Jack Harlow Foundation make Kentucky a better place.”
Owensboro is the first stop of the tour, with the performance at the Owensboro Convention Center. Donations will be accepted throughout the evening.
Donations drives during the tour are as follows:
- Owensboro: deodorant and body wash
- Pikeville: non-perishable foods
- Covington: non-perishable foods, specifically green beans and corn
- Murray: non-perishable foods
- Bowling Green: four-pack of toilet paper and single paper towel rolls
- Lexington: children’s pajamas, sizes extra-small through extra-large
A limited number of tickets for the show remain available here. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
