Ashley Webb has wanted to run a coffee shop since she first started looking into opening a business. She’s finally done it with Joy-full Java+Juice, a cafe that offers locally roasted coffee, meal prep, smoothies and juices, and more.

The coffee shop opened on January 1 at 3811 KY 54, next door to Joy’s Cooking Classes, another business she runs. Webb said after working years in coffee shops, she wanted to provide that same kind of atmosphere she had experienced at her own business on KY 54.

“It was just as comforting, homey atmosphere. It felt like you were family when you were there. So I just wanted to create that with my staff; I wanted to create it with our customers and just kind of share that love for coffee,” Webb said.

In July 2023, Webb managed Wheatgrass Juice Bar’s KY 54.

While it will be a juice and coffee shop, Webb said they also have a full menu, including salads, sandwiches, and more, along with meal preparation on Mondays and Tuesdays.

With a path connecting her two businesses, she hopes customers will come in and use both sides to study and decompress. Her coffee is produced by the local company Mylke.

“I just enjoy it, and more so than anything, I just wanted to support a local provider with that,” Webb said.

Webb said she also looks to potentially rent the space out for parties and other small events. Webb thanks the community for the support thus far to allow her to fulfill one of her longtime dreams.

“People are continuing to be faithful to our classes and our meal prep, and everything’s growing, and I’m just grateful for it,” Webb said.

The store is open Monday and Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
