The Nonprofit Coalition of Owensboro is announcing its 2024 session plans at a social event on Friday. Presenters from across the state will provide education and learning opportunities, and all nonprofit professionals are encouraged to attend the free event.

The event will run from 2-4 p.m. at the Issac Sterett Adventure Foundation’s Center for Good Works at 1010 Allen Street. Light refreshments will be provided along with activities such as corn hole and a golf simulator.

“The Coalition is excited to host one of the first events in the Center for Good Works space,” said Kara Howard, Vice President of Development and Community Engagement at Wendell Foster. “We deeply value community relationships and collaboration with one another, so what better way to kick off another year than in a fun location to continue strengthening those relationships.”

The presentation is possible thanks to funding from the Marilyn and William Young Foundation.

“The Nonprofit Coalition is a prime example of productive relationships and cooperative action,” said Young Foundation Executive Director Sara Hemingway. “We value this partnership and are pleased to support their work. Our grant will allow the group to expand their offerings to local nonprofit leadership and subsequently strengthen each organization. The Young Foundation is encouraged by the growth and leadership of the Nonprofit Coalition since its formation.”

The Nonprofit Coalition of Owensboro was founded in 2021 as a partnership between Wendell Foster and Kentucky Wesleyan College. For questions about the event or how you can get involved, contact Howard by email at [email protected] or Kelly Flick at [email protected].
