Griffith Avenue will again be filled with music by local artists this June with the return of PorchFest OBKY, which has become one of Owensboro’s most popular annual events.

Set for June 8, the marks the 6th year for the free music festival. Some of the success is a result of the unique format, with artists setting up on the front porches of houses up and down the street and crowds filling the lawns and sidewalks.

This year’s lineup has yet to be announced, as organizers accepted artist applications until the end of 2023. The full lineup will be announced on PorchFest’s Facebook page closer to the date of the event.

Organizers said they don’t have all the details lined out just yet but said the festival will again have food truck vendors at either end of Griffith Avenue.

Last year, the neighborhood music festival showcased 46 acts across 15 different stages and raised more than $3,500 for the Taylor Widmer Foundation.
