A reception for the Owensboro Art Guild’s 62nd Annual Juried Exhibition will be held Saturday, with the exhibition remaining on display through mid-May.
Eighty artists from Kentucky and surrounding states competed in teh exhibition. The reception will be from 6-8 p.m. at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art (901 Frederica Street).
The panel of judges includes Kristina Arnold, an artist and educator working at Western Kentucky University as Department Chair, Professor, and Gallery Director; Bill Whorrall, a contemporary artist based in Shoals, Indiana; and Antje Gamble, an associate professor of Art History in the Department of Art & Design at Murray State University. The panel juried the exhibition to 58 works and selected 10 merit awards.
The exhibition will continue through May 10 and will be open during regular museum hours, which are Tuesday–Friday from 12 to 5 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Admission is free but donations of $3 for adults and $2 for children are encouraged.
The Owensboro Art Guild is Kentucky’s oldest continuing visual arts organization operated by artists and sponsors a variety of exhibition opportunities throughout the year.
