Barrel Heads, the new liquor market and tasting bar on Hayden Road across from the Gateway Commons hosted an open house on Saturday. The state-of-the-art store will open on Friday and will feature a massive bourbon selection and several spirits, wine, and beer options.

Barrel Heads shares a structure and parking lot with Take 10, a convenience store and gas station combo, and a Little Caesars. Owner Deval Patel said the trio of stores is a prototype project, and they hope to expand both locally and regionally.

“Once we get this opened up, there will be much more planning for our next projects, so there’s more to come,” Patel said. “We’re really excited. I can’t wait for people to come in and see it and let us know if there is anything we could do better. Suggestions are more than welcome.”

The store features a bourbon-tasting bar for people to come and have a pour of several choices frequently not found on the shelves.

“We will have a lot of hard-to-find stuff with vintage bourbons and other spirits,” he said. “We will also have a patio outside, so you can enjoy a drink outside with a cigar. We will also have a cigar humidor.”

Patel said their ultimate vision was to offer something different.

“You see other liquor stores, and it’s a convenience thing,” he said. “This is more like destination shopping. We are trying to carry the stuff you can not find in other stores; that’s the main thing.”

He added that excitement is in the air, with people stopping daily to see if or when they are opening.

“Everyone is super excited, and we’re expecting a big turnout when we open our doors next Friday,” Patel said.

Next month, Patel plans to host a week-long grand opening with charity auctions, nonprofit raffles, several food trucks, and live music.

The Take10 and Little Caesars will open on Tuesday, March 26. Read more about Take10 and Little Caesars here.
