The Owensboro Music Business Expo is returning for year two next month. Organizers said they are bringing in a fresh group of music professionals to create the best interactive music experience possible.

This year’s expo will be held April 19-20 at the Theatre Workshop of Owensboro.

“Award-winning songwriters, composers, producers, and guests from name bands will be here to share a one-of-a-kind immersion with independent artists,” said organizer Francine Marseille. “Our programming for the weekend will be filled with welcoming entertainment and as we bring our keynote speaker Jonathan Wolff — composer of every episode of Seinfeld, Will & Grace, and over 70 other primetime network series.”

Featured guests include Jean-Michel Byron, former lead singer of the band TOTO; Dan Keen, former vice president of American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers; producer Bob Clearmountain; and radio personality Renee Collins Cobb; among several others.

“We are beyond happy about the amazing music community we are building,” Marseille said. “So many of last year’s participants and quite a few new ones are making Owensboro, a destination to meet these professionals in person and combine the best of education, creativity, and certainly some magical fun!”

The Owensboro Music Business Expo is designed to provide everything needed to better develop a music business. There will also be a program on Music & Mental Health.

Organizers are also working to bring “Live On 2nd,” a free community block party.
