Sunbelt Rentals began with one store in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1983. After several decades of exponential growth and success, they launched an Owensboro location in 2019.
Sunbelt Rentals specializes in industrial and heavy equipment rental. With the Owensboro store, they’ve brought a plethora of options to the table. From skid steers and forklifts to tillers and aerators, they’ve got it all, catering to the diverse needs of residents and businesses alike.
“Since opening our first store, we’ve made several changes to adapt to the needs of our customers,” said outside sales representative Rusty Statler. “We have moved from handwritten contacts to offering services at the touch of your fingertips through the web and on a smartphone.”
The franchise has grown to over 1,300 stores across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. In addition to equipment rental, they have a specialty division to assist customers with things like hosting a concert inside a football stadium or natural disaster relief.
As Sunbelt continues to grow and evolve, one thing remains a constant: the iconic green paint on all of the equipment. Statler said that when the owner opened the first store, he went to the local paint store and asked the man behind the counter which color would hold up the best in sunlight. The man responded green.
The Owensboro location boasts several rental options for indoor and outdoor use, along with gardening and landscaping.
“We like to say we have everything you need to knock a building down and reconstruct it again,” he said. “We can also help in the house with everything from hanging drywall, painting, sanding floors, and shop vacs to clean up the mess. We are your one-stop shop for most anything.”
Andrew Moore serves as the local store manager, and Statler said he has assembled one of the best teams in the industry. From start to finish, they strive to offer superior customer service and quality rental options.
“When you call the store, you will most likely get the privilege of talking to one of our very knowledgeable equipment rental specialists; they take care of all incoming calls,” Statler said. “They ensure that the customer gets above and beyond service with whatever they need.”
Owensboro also has two outside territory managers who ensure that all local commercial businesses have everything they need for equipment rental.
“The last part of our team is the nuts and bolts of our crew, and that’s our service and delivery department,” he said. “They are responsible for getting the equipment customer-ready and delivering it to the job site or customer. Each store strives to provide the best customer experience as humanly possible.”
Statler said he hopes the community will call the store or visit the website to speak with a territory manager when the need arises. He said they’re there for assistance and advice on selecting the appropriate equipment for the job.
“The Owensboro community has been wonderful in supporting our location,” he said. “We love being a part of the community. We provide the resources for many community events such as Friday After 5, the Air Show, boat races, Super Kids Classic Soap Box race, and much more.”
