Jamie Johnson has been named the Vice President of Workforce Development, Small Business, and Entrepreneurship at the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation (GOEDC).

“I am thrilled to begin my new role with the Economic Development Corporation team,” said Johnson, who will start the new role on June 3. “Owensboro has great potential for economic growth, and I’m confident that this position will make a meaningful difference in our community.”

Johnson has spent the last 3.5 years working as the Center Director and Business Coach at the Kentucky Small Business Development Center. Prior to that, she worked as the Fund Administrator for Marshall Ventures, a $2 million venture fund comprising 16 local investors. She also held positions at the Owensboro Convention Center and the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce. Johnson sits on the board of directors for the Greenwell Foundation and the Owensboro Dance Theatre.

“Jamie has exhibited all the qualities necessary to be successful in this role,” said Claude M. Bacon, President/CEO of the Economic Development Corporation. “In her SBDC position, Jamie has already been a valued member of our office, and her new role with the GOEDC team will strengthen the community even more.”

GOEDC is the economic development agency for Owensboro and Daviess County. GOEDC is a public/private partnership formed to attract and grow primary employers.
