More and more food trucks are popping up to serve Owensboro a variety of cuisine and beverages, but which one is the best? The 2nd Annual Owensboro Food Truck of the Year voting competition returns next week. Here’s everything you need to know — including when and where to vote plus who is eligible to win.

J’s Good Grub won the inaugural competition in 2023. In order to help promote all locally owned businesses, the rules of our competition stipulate a food truck cannot win in back-to-back years. Instead, the most recent winner — in this case J’s — will help present the trophy to the new winner.

ABOUT

Owensboro Food Truck of the Year is a voting contest to determine the community’s favorite food truck that serves the Owensboro-Daviess County area, based solely on the votes cast in our online poll launching June 21.

The 2nd Annual Owensboro Food Truck of the Year competition is hosted by Owensboro Times and sponsored by First United Bank and Trust.

VOTING/WINNER

Voting will be held exclusively on OwensboroTimes.com. The voting page will go live on June 21 and remain open through 11:59 p.m. on June 24. Comments on Facebook or other social media platforms will not count as votes.

Food trucks will also be given QR codes that allow customers to easily scan the code and vote from their phones during the competition. Owensboro Times will also be sharing the voting link on our social media pages throughout the competition.

NEW THIS YEAR! Rather than us creating a list of the several dozen trucks serving the area, the voting page will be a write-in form where you simply enter the name of the food truck you want to win. Those votes will be tabulated following the closing of the poll.

The winner will be announced in a Facebook Live during Friday After 5 on June 28.

ELIGIBILITY
Any food truck/trailer, including those that only offer beverages or dessert, that serves Owensboro-Daviess County is eligible. It does not have to be based in Owensboro.
