Jody Hulsey has been named the business coach for the Small Business Development Center by the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation.
Prior to his position with GOEDC, Hulsey worked as the professional development manager at Independence Bank.
“Growing up in a self-employed household and working with various companies has taught me the value of innovation, customer service, and resilience. Inspired by the creativity and drive of small business teams, I’m excited to support them on their journeys,” Hulsey said.
GOEDC is a partner with SBDC, whose office is located in the Old National Bank building in downtown Owensboro. Together, they work with locally owned businesses and entrepreneurs to provide the tools and advice needed to succeed. This includes conferences, local assistance, networking, and more.
“This initiative aligns perfectly with our key goals of supporting local and regional small businesses and entrepreneurs,” said Claude Bacon, President and CEO of GOEDC.
Together, they provide resources available to the local business community and underscore the region’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and economic development.
GOEDC Vice PresidentWorkforce Development, Small Business, and Entrepreneurship Jamie Johnson previously held the position of SBDC business coach. She said she is excited to work with Hulsey.
“[Jody’s] passion and work ethic will contribute to the SBDC office’s continued success,” Johnson said. “As the previous Center Director, I feel that he has the necessary skills to bring value to the small business community.”
