Owensboro Community & Technical College is offering a few courses to allow students to explore unique interests such as printmaking, the horror genre’s effect on culture, dystopian literature, and international film studies.

There are no prerequisites for any of the courses.

“These types of courses are not tied to a specific degree path, so they have a more relaxed atmosphere and usually appeal to a niche audience, so we want to promote them and highlight them for the community, so they have the opportunity to participate,” said OCTC President Dr. Scott Williams.

ART 270: Printmaking

This creative class begins August 20, meeting weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3:45 p.m. at the Art Studio at OCTC’s downtown campus at 1501 Frederica Street. For the Fall 2024 offering of the course, all supplies will be provided.

Printmaking is an art process that involves transferring ink from one surface, such as a woodblock, to another surface, such as paper. This process allows the artist to make multiple original artworks of the same design, called an edition of prints.
