A bluegrass-themed Oktoberfest is coming to Owensboro, complete with live music from several bands, craft beers, vendors, and more. Called ROMPtober Weekend and taking place October 11-12, the event is a new offering by the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum.
The festivities kick off at 4 p.m. on October 11 with a craft beer tasting in the Hall of Fame lobby. A craft beer documentary will follow at 5 p.m. in Woodward Theatre.
Live music rounds out the first night, with Cutter & Cash and The Kentucky Grass performing at 7 p.m. and Full Cord taking the stage at 8, both in Woodward Theatre.
On October 12, gates will open at noon and things get going at 1:15 p.m. with a jamming workshop led by Randy Lanham on the outdoor stage.
There will be more live music on the outdoor stage with The Sullivan Sisters at 1:30, Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle at 3:30, and Damn Tall Buildings at 5:45 p.m.
Meanwhile there will be a craft beer workshop at 3 and an infused bourbon workshop at 5:30.
Food trucks as well as arts and crafts vendors will also be on site throughout the weekend.
Tickets are $20 for Friday and $29 for Saturday, or patrons can get a weekend pass for $39. Kids 12 and under are admitted free on Saturday. If purchasing a weekend pass, kids will need a Friday ticket for a seat in the theatre.
