Boulware Mission has named David Gaynor as its new executive director.
“(Gaynor) is expected to bring a fresh perspective and boost the company’s continuous growth,” a release from Boulware reads.
Gaynor said the nonprofit is “creating progressive change.”
“We are one of Owensboro’s oldest and most cherished nonprofit organizations,” he said. “Our mission has been dedicated to serving our community in a variety of social capacities for over 100 years.”
Gaynor said his goal is to continue the tradition of education, generosity and treatment as Boulward works toward eliminating the stigma of mental health disorders and addiction.
“Our goal is to provide an avenue for those who are suffering from these diseases to become self-sustaining and productive members of our community,” he said. “Mental Health and addiction are issues that impact everyone, whether or not we are aware.”
Gaynor’s background includes strategic planning and business management. Before Boulware, he worked in various industries, including food service, hospitality, and manufacturing.
“We are incredibly excited to have David step up to the role of Executive Director,” said AJ Turner, a spokesperson for Boulware Mission. “David brings immense expertise and a wealth of experience which we believe will significantly contribute to the continued success of our company.”
To celebrate the appointment, Boulware has been hosting a clothing/supplies drive that ends September 12; donations can be dropped off at Boulware Mission (609 Wing Avenue) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The organization will also host a garage sale September 13-14.
