Morning Pointe Senior Living has acquired Heritage Place, a long-time assisted living community for seniors in Owensboro. Morning Pointe, a regional senior living company, is planning a $2.5 million renovation with enhanced services and is accepting reservations for new residents.
The community, located at 3362 Buckland Square, is now called Morning Pointe of Owensboro Assisted Living. Renovations will start in September and are expected to be completed by the end of the year, according to a company release.

Morning Pointe leaders are on-site to assist residents and their family members, as well as associates, with the transition.
The community offers comprehensive assisted living. According to the release, services and amenities will include (pending final regulatory approval):
- Licensed nurses providing oversight of health, wellness, and medication management
- 66 Assisted Living apartments
- Spacious living rooms and bedrooms
- Single-level living for ease of mobility
- Licensed, clinical, and care staff available 24 hours a day
- 24-hour personalized care services
- Medication assistance and reminders
- Periodic check-ins
- Personal grooming assistance, such as bathing or getting dressed
- Assistance with transferring to a bed or chair
- Escorting to meals and events
- Incontinence management
- On-site occupational, physical, and speech therapy
Programming includes a variety of life enrichment such as arts and crafts, wellness offerings such as exercise classes, and intergenerational activities, such as partnering with local schools.

According to the release, the community has added Morning Pointe Senior Living’s new team-driven clinical staffing model, allowing “greater staff flexibility and increased teamwork.” It has also adopted Morning Pointe’s electronic medical records system for consistency of care, as well as digital leasing, which officials said makes the transition to assisted living easier for residents and family members.
