Kids can get a hands-on experience with nature this Saturday at a Birdhouse Building Workship, followed by a guided hike through Panther Creek Park.
The workshop begins at 11 a.m. After the class, families will depart for a guided hike to learn about birds and habitats in western Kentucky.
The event is free, but pre-registration is required. To register, call the Parks office at 270-685-6142 or click here.
Birdhouse kits have been donated by The Home Depot, with Owensboro High School carpentry teacher Nathan Meredith providing instruction. The hike will be organized by Steve Hahus of the Daviess County Audubon Society.
This event is being hosted by the Daviess County Parks & Recreation Department.
