After a successful first year, the Opportunity Center of Owensboro is bringing back the Boo Bash fundraiser on October 26. The event features live music, a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres, and a costume contest.

The “spooktacular” evening, presented by Jagoe Homes and Owensboro Health, will run from 7-11 p.m. at their location at 3560 New Hartford Road in Owensboro. Guests will be welcomed by a cash bar featuring Green River Distillery, hor d’oeuvres by Nona’s Catering and Serendipity Chocolate Fountains, live music by Entice, a costume contest with prizes, a handful of photo opportunities, and much more! Proceeds provide services for adults with disabilities in our community.

Tickets are $25 each and are available online at opportunitycenterowensboro.org or at the door. Guests must be 21 or older to enter.

Communications manager Chelsea Robison previously said they hope to build on last year’s success by improving on things that worked well last year and expanding them.

“Community support is everything to us, and we couldn’t fulfill our mission without it,”  she said. “Whether it’s private donors, volunteers, or just people spreading the word, it’s all appreciated. For instance, we have partnered with many local businesses to bring them in to teach the people we support about their trade.”

She emphasized the importance of community support and how they’re always searching for volunteers. She said community awareness remains at the forefront of their efforts, and they’re constantly striving to share what they do and who they serve.

“Visibility and inclusion are key to the people we support,” Robison said. “We’re looking forward to another successful Boo Bash.”
