The Christmas at Panther Creek light display returns on Friday and runs from 6-9 p.m. nightly through January 1. Five nonprofits will work the ticket booth and will collectively receive half of the total event proceeds.
The entry fee is $5 per vehicle admission (cash only). The event will be free to attend on December 12 due to the Free Community Night hosted by Owensboro Health.
The five nonprofits collecting admission agencies were selected through a lottery system earlier this year. The five selected agencies are: Josh’s Broken Feather, CrossRoads, Boulware Mission, Dream Riders of Kentucky, and Green Valley Beekeepers Association.
This year will represent the 20th anniversary of Christmas at Panther Creek, where more than $300,000 has been generated to support more than 100 local nonprofit organizations.
Officials said last year’s event brought in roughly 6,000 vehicles, making it the third-most successful Christmas light show ever for the County. A record amount of $49,300 was raised in 2020, while more than $38,000 was raised in 2021.
Panther Creek Park is located at 5160 Wayne Bridge Road, near Kentucky Highway 81 on the west side of Owensboro.
