Habitat for Humanity of Owensboro-Daviess County is gearing up to host a new fundraiser, “Hole to Homes.” The 2-day event will feature a creative putt-putt course with 18 holes built by local businesses and includes both a traditional scramble tournament and open play for all ages, as well as more activities and prizes.
Holes to Homes will be held January 3-4 at Kentucky Wesleyan College.
Friday’s events include:
- Scramble from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. — A traditional golf scramble-style event with teams of four featuring prizes, games, costume contests, and more.
- Open Play from 3 to 8 p.m. — Open play for all ages with concessions, music, and photo ops.
Saturday’s events include:
- VIP Play from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Exclusively for families with financial need including those who’ve purchased a Habitat home, and others served by the local nonprofit community.
- Open Play from 1 to 6 p.m. — Open play for all ages with concessions, music, and photo ops.
- 21+ Play 7 to 11 p.m. — Featuring DJ Shay, a cash bar, and other surprises for the 21+ crowd.
Leading up to the event, hole sponsors are invited to construct their holes inside Habitat for Humanity’s warehouse with help from the Habitat construction crew.
“This event is going to be great for our community in so many ways,” said Jeremy Stephens, Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity of Owensboro-Daviess County. “Not only is it offering safe, family fun for all, but it gives local businesses a chance to showcase their brand in a unique way. It also gives us an opportunity for sponsors to participate in constructing something for our community – just like we do every day at Habitat.”
Holes to Homes is presented by Toyotetsu Mid-America (TTMA), and the event already has several hole sponsors. Those interested in purchasing a remaining hole sponsorship or joining the waitlist for the event should contact Habitat at [email protected].
Tickets for the remaining portions of the events will go on sale in December.
“This inaugural, and soon to be annual, event is an effort to fundraise, like any other nonprofit, but we believe we created something different,” said Dr. David Danhauer, Habitat Board Chair. “This event will be fun for all ages and backgrounds and will allow Habitat for Humanity Owensboro-Daviess County to ‘Putt up’ a house.”
