Jerry Garcia’s bluegrass legacy to be celebrated in with 2-day event in Owensboro

The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum will host Jerry Garcia: A Bluegrass Journey on November 22-23, offering a unique celebration of Garcia’s influence on bluegrass music. The weekend will feature concert performances by acclaimed artists, guided tours of the museum’s 2,000-square-foot exhibit dedicated to Garcia’s bluegrass journey, jamming workshops, and screenings of documentaries.

Tickets (available here) are $99 for the full weekend, covering all concerts and activities. There will also be an “After Party” with a performance by The Tennessee Warblers on both nights from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Local food truck Real Hacienda will be on site, and a cash bar will be available. Food trucks and pre-show lounges will be available to enhance the experience.

Other musical performances will be provided by Andy Falco & Travis Book (both nights), Fireside Collective presents Fireside on the Mountain with special guest Travis Book (both nights), Sam Grisman Project (Friday), and Kitchen Dwellers with special guest Lindsay Lou (Saturday).

The Garcia exhibit, open for two years, showcases instruments and memorabilia from Garcia’s early bluegrass career, emphasizing his influence on the genre even as the frontman of the Grateful Dead.
