The Bluegrass Music Academy and Volunteer Owensboro are teaming up once again for the 4th annual Jingle Jam, an initiative to take live Christmas music to individuals who may not be able to experience it otherwise. Throughout December, 10 music groups will perform at 20 local facilities, offering 45-minute sessions filled with classic Christmas tunes and singalongs.

“This is about reaching people who can’t get out to hear live music,” said Randy Lanham, Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum education director. “We’ll bring the music to them.”

Adding to the excitement, Lanham will join Wayne Morris and Brian Basham for a Jingle Jam Marathon on December 9. The trio plans to visit all 20 locations in a single day, spreading holiday cheer to vulnerable populations across the community.

“This effort is about showing these wonderful people that they are loved and not forgotten,” Lanham said. “We hope to inspire others to volunteer in whatever way they can. We all have gifts to share.”

Many of the participating bands are part of the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s outreach program, which performs monthly at various locations.

The public is encouraged to follow the journey on Volunteer Owensboro’s social media platforms and the Healing Arts Owensboro website. Photos and videos from the performances will be shared throughout the day.

Facilities hosting Jingle Jam performances include Calumet Trace Senior Living, Hermitage Care & Rehabilitation Center, Chautauqua Health and Rehabilitation, Carmel Home, Twin Rivers Nursing and Rehabilitation, St. Joseph Villa, Wellington Parc, One Park Place, Fern Terra, Signature HealthCARE at Hillcrest, Cedarhurst, Morning Point, Wendell Foster, Opportunity Center, Commonwealth Connections, Active Day, Park Regency, Roosevelt House, Owensboro Health, and Hospice Heartford House.
