The Green River Asset Building Coalition (GRABC) has announced the resignation of Executive Director Teresa Thomas, who will step into a new role as Community Engagement Director with LEAP Services.
Thomas has led GRABC since 2023, overseeing growth in the nonprofit’s outreach efforts — particularly its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which provides free tax preparation to low- and moderate-income residents. Under her leadership, GRABC returned millions of dollars to the local economy through tax refunds and credits, a release from the organization said.
“Teresa has been an incredible leader and advocate,” said Jan Crask, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Her dedication to financial empowerment and community service has made a lasting difference in the lives of so many people.”
In addition to expanding tax services, Thomas championed financial literacy, resource access, and volunteer engagement. She was praised for her hands-on leadership style and community-first approach.
“It’s been an honor to serve this community,” Thomas said. “I’ve been privileged to work with an extraordinary team of volunteers, and I’m proud of everything we’ve accomplished together.”
The GRABC Board has launched a search for a new executive director. Interested applicants may send resumes to [email protected].
