Beaver Dam Amphitheater has announced Resurrection – A Journey Tribute as the headliner for the 11th annual Sparks in the Park celebration on July 4, with special guest Cynthia & The End Times opening the show. The concert will be followed by a fireworks display to cap off the Independence Day festivities.

Gates open at 5 p.m., with music starting at 6. For the first time, the Lower Arena will be ticketed. General admission seats in that section start at $15 and include access to the pit directly in front of the stage. A limited number of reserved tables for four are also available, with sections 1-5 offering dedicated food and beverage service that can be ordered through a mobile platform. Outside chairs are not permitted in the Lower Arena.

Lawn seating remains free and unticketed. Guests are welcome to bring small folding chairs and blankets for the General Admission Lawn.

Shelby Whitley, executive director of the Beaver Dam Tourism Commission, said the ticketed section offers a more concert-like experience while still maintaining free options for families.

“As this annual celebration of independence has grown and evolved, we’ve wanted to bring in a bigger act,” Whitley said. “Prices are incredibly reasonable. This helps us cover the costs of the fireworks and bands, and provides fans who wish to be closer with an option for a more concert-like experience. Lawn seating is still free for fans and families who want to come out and enjoy the show on the grass. There’s not a bad spot at The DAM.”

Heath Eric, promoter with The Eric Group, said this event brings back bands originally scheduled last year before a cancellation due to illness.

“We are stoked to bring them back for Sparks in the Park,” Eric said. “Resurrection is the premier Journey tribute band on the planet. If you know, you know. If you don’t, you will. Get your tickets before they are gone and join us for a night you’ll never forget. ”

Resurrection – A Journey Tribute has earned a reputation as the premier Journey tribute band in the world, often referred to as the “gold standard” for recreating the experience of a 1980s Journey concert. The group features top Nashville musicians who have performed with major acts, including Journey and Steve Perry.

The band has taken their show across the country, performing at high-profile venues and events such as Royal Caribbean cruises, AT&T Park (home of the San Francisco Giants), U.S. Cellular Field (home of the Chicago White Sox), and various Hard Rock locations. Their performances are praised by Journey purists and even former band members as the most faithful tribute experience.

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. on May 21 at BeaverDamAmp.com.
