A sea of American flags will once again surround the Daviess County Courthouse lawn as part of the 12th annual Walk of Honor, hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Owensboro. Flag sponsorships are available through Friday.
The patriotic display invites community members to sponsor flags in honor or memory of individuals who have made a meaningful impact in their lives. Each flag includes a tag with the honoree’s name and the person or people sponsoring the tribute. Personalized certificates are also available.
“The Walk of Honor has become a beloved tradition for our club and the community,” said Kiwanis Club President Sarah Hulsey. “It’s a moving and uplifting sight to see hundreds of flags waving proudly in such a prominent downtown space. It’s something many look forward to each summer.”
Flags will be installed just ahead of Memorial Day weekend and remain in place through July 4, creating a powerful backdrop during the season of remembrance and celebration.
Sponsorships are available at $40 for one flag, $70 for two flags, or $90 for three. Proceeds support the Kiwanis Club’s community service projects benefiting local children and families throughout the year.
The deadline to sponsor a flag is May 16. For more information or to place an order, call 270-993-0646.
