PorchFest OBKY returns Saturday to Owensboro’s Griffith Avenue, once again turning front porches into concert stages for an evening of free live music, food trucks, and community fun.

The music kicks off at 3 p.m. and runs until about 10, and will feature nearly 40 musical acts across a dozen stages, along with a new addition for 2025 — a dedicated karaoke stage for those wanting to show off their own vocal talents.

A friendly reminder to attendees: PorchFest is hosted in a residential neighborhood, and state and local laws regarding public alcohol consumption will be enforced. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages, but are asked not to bring alcohol or glass containers. PorchFest does not sell alcohol or operate a beer garden.

Attendees can stop by the PorchFest Tent to pick up maps, shirts, and posters. Side streets will be open for parking, and Owensboro High School will be hosting a parking fundraiser.

With 22 food vendors — ranging from barbecue and hibachi to lemonade, coffee, and sweets — there will be plenty of options for every appetite.

PorchFest was created by Andy and Tamarra Brasher. The inaugural event in 2018 drew about 2,000 people, while crowds over the last few years are estimated to have included approximately 10,000 attendees.

Some of the success is a result of the unique format, with artists setting up on the front porches of houses up and down the street and crowds filling the lawns and sidewalks.

“It has been such a joy to watch PorchFest grow into such a wonderful community event over the years,” Tamarra Brashers said previously. “None of it would be possible without the gracious homeowners opening their porches, generous sponsors providing monetary support, and, of course, our community for embracing the idea.”

PorchFest OBKY will be presented by Furniture Warehouse this year. Special sponsors include Jacob Sommerville Design, DreamCopy Photography, and Townsquare Media 92.5 WBKR. The volunteer shirt sponsor is Sun Windows, and the photo sponsor is the Skiadas Group.
