United Way of the Ohio Valley on Wednesday recognized several local businesses and individuals for their outstanding contributions to the organization’s annual campaign, celebrating those who have helped strengthen the community through collaboration, generosity, and leadership.
Audubon Area Community Services received the Employee Engagement Award for their creative campaign activities, including new marketing strategies, giving incentives, and a leadership team challenge.
The Campaign Spirit Award went to German American Bank and Hendrick Screen Company, both of which had 100% employee participation in the campaign.
From Hendrick, Jen Kessner was honored with the Community Champion Award for serving as a “guiding light” in sharing United Way’s mission through workplace campaigns.
Jason Bellamy with BHG Realty was awarded the Community Investment Award for more than a decade of dedicated service in evaluating funding applications and helping ensure responsible investment in local programs.
The new Goods for Good Award went to Domtar Paper and The Salvation Army, who partner to distribute approximately 80 cases of paper monthly — totaling more than $76,000 annually — to 68 nonprofit organizations.
The United is the Way Award, created to celebrate collaborative efforts, was presented to the Messenger-Inquirer for organizing a charitable challenge that brought together eight community organizations to collect over 1,800 pounds of food for the Help Office.
Alexander & Company and Fifth Third Bank were named recipients of the President’s Award for the highest average employee gift.
Finally, the Campaign Chairman’s Award was given to Big Rivers Electric Corporation and IBEW Local 1701, as well as Owensboro Municipal Utilities, for their sustained excellence and impact on the campaign.
