The Daviess County Public Library is inviting local artisans to showcase their work in a new community event this fall. The library will transform its outdoor Reading Garden into a lively open-air craft fair on September 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The fair is designed to highlight original, handcrafted items and offer patrons a relaxed setting to browse and shop.
Organizers say the event will feature handmade goods from a variety of local makers. Examples of vendors being sought include those who make:
- Fabric crafts (crocheted, sewn, woven)
- Soaps/candles
- Woodcrafts
- Handmade jewelry
- Handmade buttons/stickers
- Paintings/drawings/pastel art, etc.
- Metalworks
- Wreaths
- Cakes/pastries, etc.
Applications for vendor booths open this Saturday and will be accepted through August 17. There’s no cost to participate, but organizers said space is limited and spots will be curated to avoid oversaturating the market with similar items. All merchandise must be handcrafted — no exceptions.
Interested artisans can apply at go.dcplibrary.org/craftsfair. Questions can be directed to Sarah McDuffie at 270-684-0211, ext. 242, or [email protected].
