Daviess County Public Schools is introducing a new district-wide professional learning model aimed at fostering collaboration, empowering staff, and enhancing educational practices. The event shifts from traditional outside speakers to an internal, peer-led approach, allowing district employees to share their expertise and educators to select sessions most relevant to their growth.
The professional learning day is being held today at Daviess County High School.
“We are incredibly excited about our Better Together Day and the immense potential it holds for our staff and, by extension, our students,” said DCPS Superintendent Charles Broughton. “Our educators and support staff possess a remarkable depth of talent and innovative practices. Better Together Day creates a platform for them to share their successes, learn from one another, and collectively elevate our district’s educational offerings. It truly embodies the spirit of our district motto of Together for Kids.”
Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Jana Beth Francis said many teacher leaders have stepped up to guide sessions.
“Better Together Day exemplifies our commitment to learning,” she said. “We want high-quality learning for our educators and our students each day. It’s a great way to kick off the 2025-26 school year.”
District leaders said they believe the initiative will become a cornerstone of professional learning, building a culture of shared knowledge and continuous improvement for the benefit of all students.
