Nestled just outside Owensboro, “The Farmacy” isn’t your typical wellness clinic. Blending chiropractic care, functional medicine, and faith, the family-owned practice is the latest branch of John Mark Tyler’s longtime commitment to both health and healing.

“For us, this practice is just an extension of the work we’ve already been doing on our farm and with families in the community,” said Tyler, who opened the Philpot-based office with his wife. “We wanted to create a place where we could devote time to our family, our farm, and still serve others in the way we feel called to.”

After moving back to Owensboro in 2011, Tyler, who had already been working in healthcare, felt a strong conviction to build something more personal and faith-driven.

“Long ago, I felt like I was called into healthcare just because I felt like helping people was put on my heart a long time ago by Christ,” he said. “When we say we’re Christ-centered, it means everything we do is because of what was done for us — the sacrifice Jesus made. I always want people to understand that I’m not the healer. I just encourage the body to do what the Healer has created it to do.”

The Farmacy offers chiropractic care and functional wellness services, ranging from adjustments and nervous system support to lab testing and supplement-based coaching.

“We work with people to understand how their body functions — from hormones and gut health to everyday lifestyle decisions,” Tyler said. “Our goal is to help people find what health and wellness looks like in their daily lives.”

That includes personalized care plans focused not only on physical health but also food choices, movement, and stress management. His wife, who plays a key role in testing and supplement guidance, helps round out their holistic approach.

Though new to Philpot, the Tylers have spent over a decade building relationships throughout Daviess County and beyond.

“We’ve loved getting to know people out in Philpot, Whitesville, and the surrounding areas,” Tyler said. “It’s been a real blessing. The community has been so welcoming, and we’ve received so much in return — whether it’s support, friendship, or just people showing up with their own gifts and services.”

Ultimately, the heart of The Farmacy lies in its dual mission: to care for families and disciple the community through faith-based service.

“Our family is the most important thing to us,” Tyler said. “We built this practice to take care of our family and to serve others. It’s about doing what God has called us to do — and walking that out in both our work and our everyday lives.”
