Locally owned DIY craft studio Hammer & Stain announced over the weekend that it will be closing its Owensboro location.
In a post shared Dec. 21 on the business’s Facebook page, the owners said the studio opened “with a dream of becoming a DIY Craft Studio with parties, events and fun workshops filling our calendar,” but that they are “unfortunately unable to continue to operate regretfully we must close our studio.”
The post thanked customers, VIP makers, and local businesses that partnered with Hammer & Stain for events, adding, “We thank you for some really great times and some really great friendships.”
Before closing permanently, Hammer & Stain will host several final open days in January, including Jan. 2-3, 7-10, and 14–16, from noon to 6 p.m. During those times, all in-studio projects will be offered at 30% off.
Hammer & Stain moved in 2023 to a larger space at 2845 West Parrish Avenue near Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, a move that allowed the business to host larger groups and introduce its “Splatter Den.”
